Getting ready to open your account
You should open a Canadian bank account as soon as possible, in order to easily access your funds and simplify your life in Canada.
Simply come into the branch of your choice, where we will verify your identity and issue you a Client Card.
You can also take this opportunity to ask for more information on the Canadian banking system.
Which documents will you need?
To open an account, bring the following pieces of identification to the branch. You will then be able to use the account.
- A valid passport
- A document issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (visa, work permit or study permit)
In order to be accepted, the above identity documents must be unexpired, legible originals in good condition.
Transfer funds from an account abroad
To transfer funds from an account abroad to your new account, you will need to provide the following information to the transmitting bank.
SWIFT message: MT103
SWIFT code: BNDCCAMMINT
Bank code and branch transit: CC0006XXXXX*
Branch address: National Bank of Canada*
Canadian account number: XXXXXXX*
