Appointment of Ricardo Pascoe to
Senior Vice-President ' Capital Markets
at the National Bank
Montreal, 19 September 2003 - The National Bank is proud to announce the appointment of Ricardo Pascoe to the position of Senior Vice-President – Capital Markets at the National Bank.
"We are very pleased to welcome Mr. Pascoe to our team. He acquired extensive capital markets expertise while working for major financial groups in Canada, the United States and England. We believe that he will make a considerable contribution to consolidating the Bank's role in the derivatives industry, a booming market", stated Louis Vachon, Senior Vice-President – Treasury and Financial Markets.
Mr. Pascoe, who has been in the position since September 2, is responsible for overseeing the National Bank's operations relating to derivative products, foreign exchange and alternative investments. "It was the Bank's business spirit that particularly attracted me to this new posting, and my main challenge will be to continue the targeted expansion already begun with derivative products", explained Mr. Pascoe.
Until very recently, Mr. Pascoe was Global Head of Markets at Commerzbank Securities in London, England. He also worked in New York as Global Head of Fixed Income, Trading and Alternative Investment Strategies for Commerzbank Capital Markets Corp. Prior to that, he was Managing Partner for Veritas Capital Management, LLC, Greenwich, Connecticut, and held various senior management positions with other specialized investment firms and at BT Bank of Canada.
Mr. Pascoe has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, a Master's degree in Economics from Columbia University, New York, and a Bachelor's degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
